Three details:

1. Six physicians at the practice are trained to use the technology. The Mako robot provides surgeons with preoperative plans that tailor the surgery to fit a patient’s anatomy and help surgery become more precise through use of a guidance system.

2. Surgery performed with the Mako robot also allows surgeons to make smaller incisions, allowing for quicker patient recovery.

3. Joint Care Coordinator Angie Miller of Heartland Orthopedic Specialists said of the Mako robot, “It’s exciting to be able to offer this transformative technology across the joint replacement service line.”
