Dr. Erik Severson reappointed to AAOS committee for 2nd term: 5 facts

Erik Severson, MD, was reappointed to a second three-year term on the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Hip, Knee and Adult Reconstruction Committee, the Mille Lacs (Minn.) Messenger reported.

Here are five facts to know about him:

1. Dr. Severson received his medical degree from St. Paul-based University of Minnesota.

2. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Salt Lake City-based University of Utah.

3. Dr. Severson completed a hip and knee reconstruction and joint replacement surgery fellowship at the Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic.

4. Dr. Severson joined the Aitkin, Minn.-based Riverwood Healthcare Center and Crosby, Minn.-based Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in 2010.

5. Dr. Severson performed 551 total joint replacements in 2017.
