Orthopedic surgeon Brad Cohen, MD, performed a hip replacement procedure on Pamplemousse executive chef and owner Jeffrey Strauss, The Escondido Grapevine reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Mr. Strauss was suffering from severe bone on bone pain in his leg. After consulting several physicians, he sought out Dr. Cohen to perform a hip replacement procedure.

2. Dr. Cohen is an orthopedic surgeon at the Orthopedic and Spine Center at Palomar Medical Center Poway (Calif.).

3. Dr. Cohen performed the procedure in an hour, and had Mr. Strauss up and walking two hours later.

4. After earning his medical degree from Cleveland-based Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Cohen completed an internship and residency at Boston-based Tufts Medical Center.
