University of Maryland Chesapeake Health to open new ASC

Bel Air-based The University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health has announced a $260 million growth plan that includes building a new, 30,000-square-foot ASC, according to a Jan. 3 report from the Baltimore Business Journal.

The new expansion project includes a 130,000-square-foot medical center, a 72-bed patient tower and the ASC.  

The health system plans to open the ASC, which will provide orthopedic, spine and plastic surgery services, in March.
