UC Davis Health to open $589M ASC

University of California Davis Health in Sacramento, Calif., plans to open a new ambulatory surgery center in July, according to its website.

The 262,228-square-foot facility, dubbed the 48X Complex, will house 14 operating rooms, 59 pre- and post-operative recovery bays, 13 single-occupant extended-stay recovery rooms, 96 clinical exam rooms and 19 clinical treatment rooms. The project represents a $589 million investment.

The “48X Complex” will feature multiple hyperbaric chambers for wound care and other conditions. Its operating rooms are designed to accommodate robotic-assisted procedures.
