Bel Air-based University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health is building an outpatient pavilion with a surgery center in Bel Air, Baltimore Business Journal reports.

1. The health system is expanding its existing Bel Air facility. The facility will have additional medical, surgical and short-stay beds.

2. The health system is expanding its presence in Bel Air to fill the gap left by a planned transition away from Havre de Grace, Md.-based Harford Memorial.

3. The health system will transfer most of Harford Memorial’s services to new medical campus being developed in Aberdeen, Md.
