What you should know:
1. QMG is attempting to earn state approval to redevelop a retail space into a surgery center. The state delayed the approval but issued positive feedback on the proposal in March.
2. Blessing Health System continues to fight the proposal, claiming its existing surgery center is underutilized. Blessing offered QMG 50-50 ownership in Blessing’s current surgery center.
3. QMG rejected Blessing’s first joint venture request in February.
4. QMG said: “Based on the positive feedback from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board and overwhelming support from community members, patients and employers … QMG is confident it has addressed the HFSRB’s questions and looks forward to presenting again to obtain HFSRB approval.”
5. QMG will stand before the board April 30. Three board members were in favor of the center in March; two abstained. The proposal needs unanimous approval to pass.
