Three notes:
1. Northwell is constructing a 250,000-square-foot facility that will occupy one New York City block. It will include a cancer center, ASC and medical offices.
2. Northwell also plans to build a 30-story tower for Lenox Hill Hospital, expand its emergency room space, and expand patient and operating rooms over a span of eight years. The health system is seeking city and community board approval for the project.
3. Since acquiring Lenox Hill in 2010, Northwell has invested $200 million “just to keep the lights on and plumbing working,” President and CEO Michael J. Dowling told Newsday. The hospital expansion project will be funded in part through operations, fundraising and borrowing.
