What you should know:

1. Concord Orthopaedics’ surgery center will be located on the bottom floor of Concord Hospital’s $56 million, 53,000-square-foot medical office building. The other floors will include physician offices.

2. Concord Orthopaedics previously planned to build a standalone surgery center to replace facilities it had operated in for 20 years. The practice dropped the plan — which had been met with opposition — in favor of moving into Concord Hospital’s new building.

3. The new facility will allow Concord Orthopaedics to expand capacity and provide outpatient joint replacements on Concord Hospital’s campus, CEO Ron Chorzewski told the Concord Monitor.
