Here are nine ASCs that were announced, developed or opened in August, as reported by Becker’s:
1. Advanced Spine and Pain opened a new surgery center and clinic in Prescott Valley, Ariz. The surgery center and clinic will provide services including advanced interventional procedures, spine care and personalized treatment plans for both chronic and acute pain conditions.
2. Newark, Del.-based ChristianaCare, US Health Partners and Cardiology Physicians are planning a more than $11 million cardiovascular surgery center at ChristianaCare’s Healthcare Center at Christiana campus.
3. Eugene, Ore.-based Slocum Orthopedics will break ground in September on a 34,000-square-foot ASC. The facility, which is expected to open in spring 2027, will have eight operating rooms, allow 23-hour overnight stays and handle between 8,000 and 9,000 outpatient surgeries annually.
4. Charlotte, N.C.-based Novant Health broke ground on the health system’s first medical campus in Upstate South Carolina. The system will build an ASC and medical office building in Greenville, S.C.
5. Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Health joined forces with Manassas, Va.-based Carient Heart & Vascular and Woodbridge, Va.-based Polaris Heart & Vascular Clinic to launch the Northern Virginia Heart & Vascular Center — the region’s first outpatient cardiovascular facility.
6. Lake Havasu City, Ariz.-based Convergence Health Outpatient Surgery Center opened its doors Aug. 5. The facility offers outpatient procedures in orthopedics, general surgery, endoscopy, interventional cardiology, neurology, spine and ophthalmology.
7. Rockville Centre, N.Y.-based Catholic Health opened an ambulatory and urgent care center in Melville, N.Y.
8. Portland, Maine-based InterMed has broken ground on an ASC and medical office building in Scarborough, Maine. The 62,000-square-foot center will be InterMed’s fifth facility, with other locations in Portland, South Portland and Yarmouth, Maine.
9. White Plains (N.Y.) Hospital, part of the Montefiore Health System, opened a multispecialty outpatient center in Scarsdale, N.Y.
