5 hospitals, health systems investing in ASCs

Here are five hospitals and health systems that have made investments in ASC development or expansion in the last month, as reported by Becker’s:

1.  Northwell Health opened an ambulatory center for pediatric orthopedics and urology April 27. The Cohen Children’s Northwell Health Physician Partners Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery and Urology at New Hyde Park (N.Y.) has 26 exam rooms and spans 17,000 square feet. It has onsite imaging, two ultrasound rooms and a procedure room.  

2. Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine expanded its Grayslake Outpatient Center. The 450,000-square-foot facility offers a range of specialty and primary care services, including outpatient surgery, orthopedics, gastroenterology, imaging and pediatrics.   

3. Wilmington, Del.-based ChristianaCare and Newark-based Cardiovascular Physicians of Delaware formed a joint venture to open a new cardiovascular-focused ASC in Newark, Del. 

4. New York City-based NYU Langone Health opened an ambulatory location with physicians in six specialties. NYU Langone Brooklyn Medical Associates—Clinton Hill in New York City provides primary care, bariatric surgery, gastroenterology, pediatric cardiology and neuropsychology and women’s health services. 

5. Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health started construction on an ASC and medical office building in Fort Myers.
