4 new ASC joint ventures — September/October 2018

Here are four new ASC joint ventures with updates in the past couple months:

Arlington Heights, Ill.-based Northwest Community Healthcare bought a majority stake in Des Plaines, Ill.-based Weil Regenerative Surgery Center, and the pair launched a joint venture to provide podiatric care.

Medford (Mass.) Surgery Center plans to construct a freestanding ASC on the former Lawrence Memorial Hospital campus in Medford. Medford Surgery Center is a newly formed joint venture by Quincy, Mass.-based Shields ASC, Melrose, Mass.-based MelroseWakefield Healthcare and Boston-based Tufts Medical Center Physician Organization.

Addison, Texas-based United Surgical Partners International secured a $23.46 million loan to build a surgery center in West Palm Beach, Fla. The project is a joint venture between USPI’s parent company, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, and New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery.

West Reading, Pa.-based Tower Health will expand its ASC network through a joint venture with Addison, Texas-based United Surgical Partners International. The joint venture plans to develop ASCs in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
