1. The Daisy Award is presented in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. His family created the award to honor the exceptional nurses who cared for Mr. Barnes when he was hospitalized with symptoms of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura.
2. The Daisy Team Award honors nurse-led collaborations by two or more people that go beyond the traditional role of nursing.
