University of Nebraska Medical Center to open IBD center: 4 things to know

University of Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine has plans to open an inflammatory bowel disease center, according to a Nebraska Radio Network.

Here are four things to know:

1. The new facility will be named after Frederick F. Paustian, MD, the first specialty-trained gastroenterologist in Nebraska.

2. The IBD Center will allow UNMC and Nebraska Medicine to recruit world-class physicians and researchers.

3. The center will provide clinical and research programs.

4. The new center is possible due to a big donation from longtime supporters.
