University Gastroenterology appoints Dr. Robert Najarian to leadership role — 4 insights

Portsmouth, R.I.-based University Gastroenterology named Robert Najarian, MD, the medical director of its new Pathology Center in Portsmouth.

1. Dr. Najarian is coming to University GI, after serving at Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

2. He has more than 13 years of experience as a surgical pathologist.

3. Dr. Najarian wanted to join University Gastroenterologist due to his desire to “work with the best caregivers in the field.” He added, “I knew as soon as I met the University Gastroenterology team that they were compassionate, knowledgeable and up-to-date on the latest in patient care for gastrointestinal disease.”

4. He earned his medical degree from Boston University and completed his postdoctoral training and fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
