Here are six practices and hospitals making headlines this past week.

UMass Memorial Health Alliance-Clinton (Mass.) Hospital revealed plans to close its endoscopy services, giving less than three weeks’ notice before the closure, according to a statement from the Massachusetts Nurses Association.

GMed, a Modernizing Medicine company, named gastroenterologist, at Washington, D.C.-based Capital Digestive Care, Arnold Levy, MD, one of its gastroenterology EMR strategic advisors.

McAllen-based Texas Gastroenterology Institute’s Valeska Balderas, MD, was recognized as a “2018 Top Doctor in McAllen, Texas.”

Boston-based Tufts Medical Center and The Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care unveiled the Marlene Neely Center for Digestive Health, a facility focused on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of GI illness.

Burlington County Endoscopy Center in Lumberton, N.J., filed for $1.01 million in form D equity financing.

Gainesville, Va.-based Gastroenterology Associates partnered with Elligo Health Research to provide clinical research services to patients.
