Top 10 states with highest follow-up interval for colonoscopy rates

In 2014, the average national rate of patients receiving appropriate follow-up interval for normal colonoscopy in average risk patients was 78.38, according to CMS’ 2014 Ambulatory Surgical Center Quality Reporting Program results.

The ASC-9 measure — appropriate follow-up interval for normal colonoscopy in average risk patients — is described as the percentage of patients, aged 50 to 75 years, receiving a screening colonoscopy without biopsy or polypectomy who had a recommended follow-up interval of at least 10 years for repeat colonoscopy documented in their colonoscopy report.
