Married people had better outcomes than single people in a study of colon cancer patients, according to a report in Clinical Oncology.
Married people were more likely to be diagnosed at an earlier stage compared with single, separated and divorced patients. They were also more likely to receive surgical treatment than the other groups.
The five-year survival rate for single people was six percentage points lower than for both married men and women.
