A single flexible sigmoidoscopy screening for patients between ages 55-64 is linked with a reduced level of colorectal cancer incidence and mortality, according to a report in the Journal of National Cancer Institute.
Italian researchers found the screening reduced incidence of colorectal cancer by 31 percent.
In addition, colorectal cancer mortality was reduced by 38 percent in screened subjects in comparison to the control group.
