Dr. Cole is running for the seat currently held by Councilor Janet Brekke, who has not said if she will seek re-election, according to the report.
She practices with Avera Medical Group Pediatric Specialists in Sioux Falls and specializes in a range of conditions such as Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease and ulcerative colitis.
Dr. Cole grew up in Moorhead, Minn., and has lived in Sioux Falls since 2012.
