Here’s what you need to know.

1. The NvisionVLA Imaging System is benefiting from an updated CPT code 43262, upper GI endoscopy with optical endomicroscopy. The reimbursement rate is increasing 131 percent in an outpatient setting from $1,088 to $2,509.64. In an ASC the reimbursement rate is increasing 86 percent from $608.39 to $1,134.02.

2. The device allows physicians to perform volumetric laser endomicroscopy procedures in real time.

3. The device is primarily used to treat esophageal adenocarcinoma.
