Pop singer Lance Bass has joined a long list of celebrities encouraging patients to get screened for colon cancer.

On April 24, the former NSYNC member posted to his Instagram story a photo in his hospital gown with the caption, “Fashionably late to colon cancer awareness month. But still right on time to say: Don’t put off getting screened. Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers out there,” according to an April 24 report from People.

He also linked back to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance’s website, which raises awareness for screenings in patients above 45.

Colon cancer has been on the rise, especially among younger patients, since 1999. Mr. Bass joins a long list of celebrities raising awareness for CRC screenings, including reality contestant Taylor Hastings; Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott; actor, host and former NFL player Terry Crews; model and television personality Chrissy Teigen; news anchor Gayle King; social media personality Dave Portnoy; and actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
