New guidelines for CRC molecular testing open to public comment

The American Society of Clinical Oncology, Association for Molecular Pathology, College of American Pathologists and American Society of Clinical Pathology have released new guidelines for molecular testing in cases of primary or metastatic colorectal carcinoma, according to a Medscape report.

The new guidelines are designed to establish standard molecular marker testing and targeted therapies for patients with primary or metastatic colorectal carcinoma.

The guidelines are open to public comment through April 22.
