Nebraska’s colonoscopy coverage bill advances

Nebraska state Sen. Carol Blood’s proposed bill regarding the expansion of colonoscopy coverage has passed the first of three rounds of voting, NBC affiliate WOWT reported Feb. 6.

If the bill passes, insured patients would not be charged additional fees for a medical service associated with colonoscopies, such as a polyp removal. 

The bill was first introduced Jan. 3 and crossed over Feb. 6.
