Dysplasia is a condition that can develop in patients with Barrett’s esophagus, a disorder caused by heartburn and acid reflux. According to Larissa Semenoff, JCMC’s director of nursing, the hospital spent $100,000 on the apparatus to make it possible to offer the procedure.
