Here’s the AGA’s latest update on managing refractory H. pylori

The American Gastroenterological Association published best-practice statements for patient care of refractory Helicobacter pylori.

The update comprises 12 best-practice advice statements on managing refractory H. pylori, according to an April 21 announcement. It provides an overview of H. pylori eradication treatment failure determinants and data-driven advice for treatment after the first failure.

Lead author Shailja Shah, MD, said in a video that the update also includes guidance on treatment regimen and when to pursue H. pylori susceptibility testing.
