GI physician leader to know: Dr. Neil Gupta of Loyola Medicine

Neil Gupta, MD, MPH, is a practicing gastroenterologist and assistant professor at Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola Medicine. His clinical interests include pancreas disorders, Barrett’s esophagus, gastrointestinal bleeding, colon cancer, endoscopic mucosal resection, bile duct cancer and interventional endoscopy.

Dr. Gupta also has an active interest in research. His work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications, including Digestive Endoscopy, Gastroenterology and The American Journal of Gastroenterology. His research interests include endoscopic resection methods as well as endoscopic holmium laser lithotripsy.

Dr. Gupta earned his medical degree at University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Medicine. He completed his residency at University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center. He has completed a GI fellowship at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City and an interventional endoscopy fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis.
