GI physician leader to know: Dr. James Marion of Mount Sinai Hospital

James F. Marion, MD, is a professor of medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai; and director of education and outreach at the Susan and Leonard Feinstein Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at The Mount Sinai Hospital, all located in New York. He serves on the scientific advisory board of Janssen Pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Marion has a professional interest in celiac disease, colon polypectomy, colon polyps, colonoscopy, Crohn’s Disease, inflammatory bowel disease and ulcerative colitis. He is currently the principal investigator of two clinical trials. One is a multicenter study of higher versus standard adalimumab dosing regimens for induction and maintenance therapy in ulcerative colitis patients. The other focuses on the efficacy and safety of two adalimumab induction regiments in Crohn’s Disease patients showing evidence of mucosal ulceration.

Dr. Marion earned his medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York and completed his internal medicine residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, also in New York. He completed his GI fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital.
