Dr. Barrett specializes in treating complex inflammatory bowel disease. He also is participating in a National Cancer Institute trial for patients with colitis-induced dysplasia.
Dr. Barret has received research grants from the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and the National Institutes of Health. He is the author of over 200 editorials, abstracts and articles.
He earned his medical degree from the Springfield-based University of Illinois and completed his gastroenterology, immunology and IBD fellowship at the University of Chicago.
