GI leader to know: Dr. Ian Leibowitz of Children’s National Health System

Ian Leibowitz, MD, is chief of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition services for the Washington, D.C.- based Children’s National Health System.

Dr. Leibowitz serves as the elected councilor to the executive committee of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. He is also a member of the ImprovedCareNow strategic council and physicians leadership group, a physician community that develops clinical standards and measures outcomes.

Before joining Children’s National, Dr. Leibowitz was the chief of pediatric gastroenterology for Church, Va.-based Inova Fairfax Hospital, and was the CMO of Fairfax-based Pediatric Subspecialists of Virginia.

He completed his pediatric gastroenterology residency and fellowship at Washington, D.C.-based Georgetown University.
