Dr. Varilek earned his medical degree from Omaha, Neb.-based Creighton University. He completed a residency at Creighton and a fellowship at Iowa City-based University of Iowa.
He served on the University of Iowa’s faculty for five years following his fellowship.
Dr. Varilek is an American College of Gastroenterology fellow. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and Crohn’s Colitis Foundation of America.
His clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease and colon cancer prevention.
