GI leader to know: Dr. Eric Osgard of Gastroenterology Consultants

Eric Osgard, MD, is a gastroenterologist at Reno, Nev.-based Gastroenterology Consultants.

He specializes in treating esophageal diseases including gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus and Eosinophilic Esophagitis.

Dr. Osgard began his career after earning his medical degree from the Bethesda, Md.-based Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He completed his residency at the Tacoma, Wash.-based Madigan Army Medical Center, and his fellowship at the Bethesda, Md.-based Walter Reed Medical Center.

He practiced at the Honolulu-based Tripler Army Medical Center, where he would eventually become chief of the gastroenterology division.

Outside of his professional career, Dr. Osgard enjoys spending time with his family, skating, fishing and reading.
