GI leader to know: Dr. Bruce Sands of Mount Sinai Hospital

 
Bruce Sands, MD, is the chief of the Dr. Henry D. Janowitz Division of Gastroenterology at New York City-based Mount Sinai Hospital.

Dr. Sands is also the Dr. Burrill B. Crohn Professor of Medicine.

Before joining Mount Sinai, he was the medical co-director of the Crohn’s & Colitis Center at Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Sands also served as Massachusetts General Hospital’s acting gastrointestinal unit chief.

His research includes innovative treatments for inflammatory bowel disease and clinical investigations of therapeutics.
