Gastroenterology practice included in Tennessee hospital’s expansion

The Sweetwater (Tenn.) Hospital Association opened a patient tower and gastroenterology practice, local NBC affiliate WBIR reported Oct. 27.

The four-story expansion hospital includes an intensive care unit that added 10 beds to help with surges in demand. 

The project has been about two to three years in the making, and the hospital plans to add 14 critical care beds by the spring.
