Gastroenterologist to know: Dr. Steven Abo of the University of Pittsburgh

Steven R. Abo, MD, is a gastroenterologist and assistant professor of medicine in the division of gastroenterology, hematology and nutrition at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Abo is currently the director of the Center for Women’s GI Health at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Abo’s research interests include clinical studies pertaining to the pathogenesis and treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.

Dr. Abo earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and completed both his residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.
