Dr. Fallon’s translational research focuses vascular alterations’ pathogenesis in chronic liver disease, with a focus on defining and characterizing endothelial dysfunction in the pulmonary vasculature that results in vasodilatation and the hepatopulmonary syndrome.
His clinical interests include diagnosis and therapy of the hepatopulmonary syndrome’s diagnosis and therapy, as well as preventing and treating chronic liver disease complications. Dr. Fallon is also interested in hepatitis C, B and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease therapy.
Currently, Dr. Fallon serves on the American Board of Internal Medicine Transplant Hepatology Test Committee and is an associate editor of Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Dr. Fallon earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville and completed his residency at Yale-New Haven (Conn.) Hospital. He also completed a fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine.
