1. The clinic is led by Anthony Martinez, MD, a clinical associate professor of medicine. Since it opened in 2012, the ECMC program has treated more than 1,300 patients for hepatitis C and opiate dependency.
2. The award recognizes clinics working to eliminate hepatitis C through testing and improved access to care.
3. Dr. Martinez said, “This award recognizes what we have tried to build over the past six years in terms of an academic hepatology program. It puts the program on the map as one of the leading HCV programs in the state and it really highlights our team at ECMC as a whole, which I think is the most significant aspect of this prestigious honor.”
