Dr. Mark McAlindon cycles 300 miles for GastroCycle — 5 notes

Mark. E. McAlindon, BM, PhD, will cycle 300 miles from Newcastle, England to Liverpool, England, as part of GastroCycle, according to The Star.

1. GastroCycle is a four-day cycling event to raise funds to fight digestive diseases.

2. Dr. McAlindon will ride in support of CORE, a national charity fighting gut, liver and pancreas diseasees.

3. In 2011, the Movetis MAGIC award program recognized Dr. McAlindon’s team at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital’s gastroenterology and liver unit in England for their coasule endoscopy use and research.

4. Dr. McAlindon’s clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, endoscopic procedures, capsule endoscopy, dyspepsia, acid reflux, nutrition, irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease and food intolerance.

5. Dr. McAlindon underwent medical training in Nottingham, England, Stoke-on-Trent, England, and Melbourne, Australia.
