Beverly Hills, Calif.-based gastroenterologist David Yamini, MD, treated his 500th hemorrhoid patient with the O'Regan Banding Method.
Here's what you should know:
1. The O'Regan Banding System uses a disposable litigator to pull tissue into it so a rubber band can be placed around the hemorrhoid's base.
2. The band if often placed where nerve endings aren't present, eliminating pain.
3. Less than 1 percent of patients reported pain postprocedure with the banding method.
4. Dr. Yamini runs a private practice in Beverly Hills.
