Dr. Blair Jobe Leads Clinical Trial of New Ablation Treatment of Barrett’s Esophagus

Blair Jobe, MD, is leading a West Penn Allegheny Health System clinical trial of the CryoBalloon Focal Ablation System as a treatment for Barrett’s Esophagus, according to a HealthCanal report.

Dr. Jobe is currently the director of the West Penn Allegheny Health System’s Institute for the Treatment of Esophageal and Thoracic Disease. He is currently enrolling patients in the clinical trial at Canonsburg General Hospital in North Strabane, Pa.

CryoBalloon Focal Ablation System, designed by C2 Therapeutics, destroys Barrett’s esophagus tissue through the use of extreme cold.
