Here are the key details to know:

1. Gerald Bertiger, MD, a gastroenterologist who practices at the Flourtown, Pa.-based Hillmont GI, presented research titled Optimizing the Preparation Regimen Prior to Colonoscopy Procedure with the Pure-Vu System, which showed use of the Pure-Vu System allowed 100 percent successful completion of all colonoscopies performed. Patients had a higher Boston Bowel Preparation Scale score after use of the Pure-Vu System than patients who had prepared for colonoscopy through a standard liquid diet and purgative-based bowel prep regimens.

2. “This study gives us solid insight into how the Pure-Vu System can support patients that need a colonoscopy for urgent reasons in an inpatient environment as well as patients with medical issues that have significant issues with tolerating current preparation regimes,” Dr. Bertiger said.

3. The Pure-Vu System attached on commercially available standard and slim colonoscopes, providing a proprietary pulsed vortex of water and air to remove debris and evacuate bowel contents.
