AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Open House Features Mock Colonoscopy

In honor of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, N.J., is hosting an open house and inviting community residents to watch a mock colonoscopy and learn more about gastroesophageal diagnosis and treatment options, according to a Shore News Today report.

The live demonstration of capsule endoscopy will be supplemented with a lecture. A hospital staff member will swallow a pillcam, which is a miniature color video camera, to show viewers how the painless screening of a patient’s esophagus and small intestine is performed.
