Apollo Endosurgery establishes new data registry — 4 insights

Apollo Endosurgery established a multicenter, longitudinal data repository for endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty and gastrojejunal anastomotic outlet revision procedures in Europe.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The procedures allow physicians to place sutures in the upper gastrointestinal tract with a flexible endoscope.

2. The registry will collect outcomes of all procedures performed with Apollo’s OverStitch Endoscopic Suturing System.

3. Apollo included eight advanced endobariatric centers in its study. Madrid, Spain-based University Hospital HM Sanchinarro’s Director of the Bariatric Endoscopy Unit Department Gontrand Lopez-Nava, MD, will serve as primary investigator.

4. Physicians will be able to access the registry to submit and view patient outcome data.
