The 10 scholars will undergo a year-long training and mentorship program promoting underrepresented minorities pursuing careers as physician-scientists.

- Folasade May, MD, PhD, of University of California at Los Angeles, VA Health Administration
- Akinbowale Oyalowo, MD, of Philadelphia-based University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine
- Nneka Ufere, MD, of Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital
- Eric J. Vargas, MD, of Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic
