Gastroenterology consolidation isn’t slowing down, with MSOs, health systems and digital health companies each making moves in the space.
Less than two months after closing a $3.9 billion deal, Amsurg is already expanding its GI footprint. It’s one of five acquisitions shaking up gastroenterology in the past 30 days, as reported by Becker’s since July 13:
- San Francisco-based Hinge Health signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cylinder Health, a virtual-first digestive healthcare company, for $105 million in cash.
- Transform Health Partners, a management services organization, acquired Northwest Weight & Wellness Center and Sound Surgeons, two bariatric and surgical practices based in Washington.
- Gastro Health finalized a partnership with the Center for Advanced Gastroenterology, a two-location gastroenterology practice in Maitland and Lake Nona, Fla.
- Less than two months after Ascension closed its $3.9 billion acquisition of Amsurg, the combined platform is already expanding its GI footprint by adding five endoscopy centers in North Carolina that bring 15 gastroenterologists and hepatologists into the network.
- Outpatient real estate investor Montecito Medical acquired a property in Waco, Texas, that is 100% occupied by GI Alliance.
