Dr. DuBois was recognized for discovering the role of prostaglandins and cyclooxygenase in colon cancer, paving the way for the common use of drugs for human cancer prevention. Dr. DuBois is dean of the college of medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Rustgi’s research into tumor suppressors helped advance therapeutic opportunities to treat tumor metastasis. Dr. Rustgi is director of the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center and associate dean of oncology at New York City-based Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University.
Both physicians are members of the American Gastroenterological Association.
