Pittsburgh-based UPMC Children’s Hospital has opened a new pediatric cardiology clinic at Children’s Pine Center in Wexford, Pa.

The site consolidates services previously offered at Children’s North and integrates patients from the practice of Prapti Kanani, MD. Staff from both locations have relocated to the expanded clinic, which also added pediatric cardiologists and support staff to meet higher demand, according to an April 1 news release.

The clinic provides diagnostic and follow-up cardiology services, including fetal and adult congenital heart disease appointments, in a family-focused outpatient setting.

The move is part of UPMC Children’s broader investment in congenital heart care, which includes the upcoming June opening of the UPMC Children’s Heart Institute in Lawrenceville, Pa., which will centralize clinical services, technology and collaborative expertise in a single location.

The initiative also supports the continued growth of UPMC Children’s Adult Congenital Heart Disease Center, according to the release.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
