Odessa, Texas-based Medical Center Hospital has earned reaccreditation for its cardiac catheterization lab with percutaneous coronary intervention from the American College of Cardiology, according to a July 24 Odessa American report.
The hospital first received the accreditation in 2022 and is currently the only accredited cath lab within a 300-mile radius of the Permian Basin. The recognition follows a rigorous review of staff expertise and adherence to best practices for diagnosing and treating patients undergoing cardiac catheterizations and PCI procedures, according to the report.
The ACC’s accreditation process includes gap analysis, onsite evaluation and continuous quality monitoring to ensure patient safety and improved outcomes.
