The Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai has appointed four directors, according to an Oct. 24 news release from the organization.
Here are the new directors:
- Mark Sklansky, MD, is a leader in fetal echocardiography. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 scientific papers. Prior to joining Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Sklansky founded the Children’s Heart Center at UCLA, where he also served as chief of pediatric cardiology.
- Laura DiChiacchio, MD, PhD, is a cardiac surgeon who focuses on adult heart and lung transplantation. She is director of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation and the Ex Situ Perfusion Program at Smidt Heart Institute.
- Yoshikazu Suzuki, MD, is director of heart and lung protection and management. He was previously clinical associate professor in the division of cardiovascular surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
- Stephen Nageotte, MD, is an interventional cardiologist and expert in minimally invasive procedures. He directs the Congenital Catheterization Laboratory and treats patients of all ages born with a heart defect.
