New York City hospital names cardiology chief

Episcopal Health Services in New York City has named Dheeraj Khurana, MD, chief of cardiology.

In his new role, Dr. Khurana will oversee clinical operations, education and strategic initiatives for the cardiology department. His responsibilities include guiding patient care, maintaining quality standards, mentoring medical staff and advancing innovation in cardiovascular services, according to an Oct. 3 health system news release. 

Dr. Khurana joined Episcopal Health Services as an attending physician in March after operating a private practice in New York City, for seven years and serving as an attending physician in the Division of Cardiology at Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular Institute in New York City.
